SPC Impact 2023 Recap

The Quad team was excited to travel out to Austin, TX in April for this year’s Sustainable Package Coalition Impact Conference. This is the biggest conference SPC hosts each year, with over 750 sustainably focused attendees, 100+ speakers and 45 exhibitors. This is an invaluable occasion for Quad as one of the best crossroads of CPG, Retail, and Non-Government organizations gathering to take action on their mutual passion for sustainability and Innovation. The focus of this years’ conference was about motivating a mind shift and narrowing the intention-action gap, inclusion, and systems change. There was an enlivening mix of informative and inspirational speakers, touching on everything from evolving EPR legislation, encouraging sustainable community habits, and design of packaging for more diverse inclusion.

Two of Quad’s own, Nicole Lowry, Senior Human Resource Business Partner, and Shannon Anderson, Senior Project Manager, were invited to present at the conference. Nicole shared insights on creating sustainable communities, and how inclusion of diversity of thought and experience is vital to accomplish any lasting change. Shannon presented a pilot study example using Package InSight’s qualitative and quantitative methods to illustrate how sustainable messaging can affect consumer perception and brand equity. You can read more about that here (Read More).

The Quad Latino and Hispanic BRG, Somos Uno, sponsored a social for conference attendees at Austin’s famous Stubb’s Bar-B-Q. While enjoying amazing food and fellowship, attendees learned about Latino heroes and got to hear from Mexican artist and Austin local, Naxieli Gomez. At the end of the evening there was a drawing for one of Gomez’s beautiful paintings.

In the end, as with all SPC events, our Quad team left inspired and encouraged by three days of thought-provoking presentations and galvanizing conversations and were ready to come back and start guiding clients on their own sustainability journeys.
